ABOUT US

The Southern Africa Regional Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (SARRSB) was established as the regional extension of the Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB). The Global Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (GRSB) mission is to advance, support, and communicate continuous improvement in sustainability of the global beef value chain through leadership, science, and multi-stakeholder engagement and collaboration. The GRSB envisions a world where beef is a trusted part of a thriving food system in which the beef value chain is environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable.

Our primary objective is to engage the beef value chain to improve on global market competitiveness of the beef and beef products from Southern Africa especially among smallholder farmers. The SARRSB comprises 13 countries who also form the board including

SARRSB envisions a Southern African sub-Continent in which all aspects of the beef value chain as they affect especially SHF are environmentally sound, socially responsible and economically viable.

The mission of SARRSB is to advance continuous sustainable improvement in the regional and global beef value chain through inclusive leadership, science, and multi-stakeholder engagement and collaboration.

OBJECTIVES

To facilitate collaborations and coordination among beef players in the region.

To support and lobby for research and information dissemination on beef industry to beef players in the region.

To lobby and advocate for adherence to standards and sustainable beef production principles among beef players in the region.

To promote and enhance regional capacity to commercially manage various aspects of the beef industry in line with principles of sustainable beef production.
